Greetings Parents and Community Members:
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Queen Bee School District 16 website. I have recently assumed the role of superintendent and am very excited to serve as the leader of this excellent school district.
If you have been driving around the community you are aware that we are undergoing major construction projects at both Queen Bee and Americana schools. Both of those projects have included extensive work to update plumbing, electrical, lighting, boilers, etc. Upon completion of these two projects, all of the Queen Bee School facilities will be updated and improved for efficiency. I want to personally thank you for your continued support of providing safe and efficient buildings for our students.
You may or may not be aware that I have been employed in Queen Bee since 1995, having served as a special education administrator and most recently as the Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services. I have first hand knowledge of the curriculum and instructional programs, as well as an established relationship with staff; therefore I have the advantage of being able to immediately devote time to some of the short and long term goals that I have set in collaboration with the Board of Education. I am also fortunate to have developed a solid working relationship with a Board of Education comprised of seven devoted individuals who serve this community extremely well.
I encourage you to participate in school activities and become active partners with the staff of Queen Bee as we work to provide the children of this district with excellent educational programs. Below I have outlined some of the goals that I intend to focus on as I begin to serve as the superintendent.
Goals:
- Develop a long-term strategic plan, in collaboration with parents, community members, and leaders, which outlines specific goals for the future of Queen Bee.
- Develop effective communication systems with all stakeholders to gather feedback in order to support our efforts toward continuous improvement.
- Serve the community of Glendale Heights in a manner that illuminates the strengths of the school district.
- Commit resources, in a fiscally responsible manner, in order to provide students with the skills and technological ability to compete in a global economy.
Again, welcome and please explore our website for further details on the many exceptional programs and services we offer.
Sincerely,
Victoria L. Tabbert
Superintendent of Schools
