  • Welcome Back!

    Dear Parents and Students,

The staff at Glen Hill are excited to welcome you to a new school year filled with opportunities to learn and engage! We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Given the ongoing pandemic, we want to assure you that we are taking every step possible to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy and learning. Please take a moment to read about what we have planned. Know that while we cannot anticipate every situation that may arise this school year, we will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our student have a successful year. So let’s work together to:

Keep Safe – Our school staff is working hard to create a positive school climate and maintain a clean environment throughout the school building.

Keep Healthy - Please help us keep students healthy. Make sure they get sleep, eat well and exercise. If you are not certain whether to send your student to school due to illness (including Covid-19), call 630.260.6141 to discuss the situation.

Keep Connected - We all learned the critical importance of being part of a school community during the past year. We want to make sure families can connect with their teachers when they have questions about their student's academic or social skills. Our teachers want to keep the lines of communication open.

Do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns. Also, please make sure we have the most recent email and phone number so we can reach you easily.

  • Bus Routes

Once we get confirmation of the official bus routes for Glen Hill, we will let families know. Families will be able to check this in Skyward by clicking on the following tile:

    Car Line

In order to make sure our students are safe, please observe the following directions for dropping off and picking up your students. We know how valuable everyone's time is, but we also know keeping our students and staff safe is our priority.

    • Wait your turn in the line and do not move out of the car-line.
    • Students should be let out of their cars curbside within the blue arrows.
    • Right turn on Bloomingdale Road only-NO LEFT TURN during the school day.
    • We discourage parking your car to drop off or pick your child, as it's a safety risk to your student.

If you choose to walk your student to school, we recommend parking along Glen Hill Drive and walking to the building. The picture below shows the ideal places to park.

    Bus Lane

These are reserved for our buses. Please park in the parking lot when arriving at Glen Hill. Do not use the bus lane during the school day.

Need Help from the Office? Make an Appointment

Please remember that the beginning and end of the day are very hectic for everyone. If you stop by to see someone in the office during these times, we will ask you to wait until we've taken care of students. You can always make an appointment to see us. This can save you time in your day.

We use Second Step for our social emotional curriculum. The idea behind using a universal, classroom based curriclum is to help empower our students to learn to manage big feelings, problem solve with peers and adults, and learn skill necessary to learning. Each month, we will feature information about the topic our students are working on.

For our first month, our schoolwide theme is our school as a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs. In our morning announcements and school assembly, we’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. In addition we’ll be reminding students of our school wide expectations: Caring, Responsible and Always Learning.

We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors.

Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your student’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.

    Classrooms Assignments

We are in the process of finalizing our classroom lists. We will notify families when your student's classroom teacher is available for viewing in Skyward. Families will be able to find their classroom teachers in Skyward by clicking on the SCHEDULE link.

School Breakfast and Lunch Program Updates

We will be moving back to utilizing My Meal Time for breakfast and lunches. This school year, schools will offer breakfast and lunch choices to students at a cost. If you would like your student to purchase breakfast and/or lunch, you can set up your MealTime account.

See the flyer below for more details.

  • Absences, Early Dismissals, or Late Arrivals?

Please contact the office for any changes to your student's day.

  • Severe Weather Dismissal

When we have inclement weather, we do not want to send students outside to wait for their rides home. We will hold students in the building and call them out to the cars once a family arrives. If there is enough time, we will send out an email blast notifying families of the dismissal process as it occurs.

For walkers, please pick up your student at the back of the new gym. We will dismiss all walkers out the back door (Door 12)

Car riders will exit Door 13. Please do not stand close to Door 13, since that slows down our ability to safely get students from the building.
