Welcome to the Office of Special Services
This office oversees all special service programming that is offered to students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. These programs include Special Education and Pre-Kindergarten At-Risk.
About 12% of District 16 children access Special Education, from those who need speech therapy to those with profound disabilities needing highly individualized, comprehensive programs.
In compliance with state and federal law, District 16 provides free, appropriate special education services for eligible children who may have a disability that adversely impacts educational progress. Queen Bee School District 16 offers a full continuum of special education and related services to students found eligible for special education and is committed to educating all students with disabilities with children who are not disabled to the maximum extent appropriate.
If you think your child may be eligible for special education, please contact your school's building administrator
If you have specific questions about your child, please contact your child’s case manager or your school’s administrator.
