I, Wendy Stephen (pronounced "Steven"), graduated from Northern Illinois Universtiy with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in 1986. I continued on at NIU with a Master of Arts in Speech/Language Pathology. I have been a member of the American Speech/Language Hearing Association with a Certificate of Clinical Competency and have held an Illinois Teaching Specialty License since 1988.
I have worked in Queen Bee District 16 for most of my career. After 33 years, I still love this job! I work with parents, teachers and other service providers to support children's communication skills in school. I specialize in consultation, screening, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of communication disorders including receptive/expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, social skills, voice disorders, and other developmental delays.
If you have concerns about your child's speech and language development, please talk to their classroom teacher or contact me at Glen Hill School.
